My question is,

can someone give me a link to somewhere i can download an icon (.icns) that is the original HOME picture. I accidently put another icon and I want it back. I have tried pressing DELETE but it wont work...

You can locate the Home icon seen in the Finder sidebar by navigating to System > Library > CoreServices. Then right click or control click on CoreTypes.bundle and select "Show Package Contents." Then continue on to Contents > Resources and you'll see HomeFolderIcon.icns.

Here is one way to copy Mac application icons or use whatever your favorite method is. Whatever method you use - be careful to copy and not move or delete any icons. If you've never looked at the icons in their full 512x512 glory, you may be surprised at the beautiful artwork that goes into Mac application icons. Good luck.
