Hi guys first post on here.

What is the easiest to make an image from macbook air retina (damaged)
over to macbook pro 2013 model.

Which cables do i need to connect them and best software to take the image and move over to macbook pro.

Because the screen is slightly damaged i can make out some of the text what is the process i need to do please.

Target Disc Mode via Thunderbolt is the easiest. You'll have a Thunderbolt cable and some cloning software. Carbon Copy Cloner is an example of cloning software.

thank you for the quick reply what if the damaged machine has file vault 2 enabled i have no way of changing it ?

If you know the password, you can unlock it by entering the password when Mac OS X prompts you for it after you connect it to another Mac once it is in Target Disk Mode.

I don't know what the password was and screen is damaged.
So would it not work without it?

It will not work without the password. The password to unlock it is password used to log into the machine with. If you do not have that, you will have to use the recovery key. If you do not have that, the data is lost.
