Hi!

I'm new to this forum but I guess my problem is too,
because google won't help me with this:

I got windows domain with active directory user-system,
so some users can access some folders and some users other.

Now I gotta add macbook with OS X to this. At least I need
to get access to specific folder ONLY. Being in the actual
domain isn't necessery (or is that the problem here?)

I do get to the folders on the server, but the
real problem is the fact, that once I've got into
the folder I'm supposed to get in (with the OS X's
"connect to a server") I can connect to root of the
same server, where I am NOT supposed to get, not
with this mac user's priviledges.

EDIT: I connect to the folder with a password and
username that is only for that folder, not to more
secure places on the server, which need different
username and password. So, when I'm once connected
to the folder where I'm supposed to get, I can get back
to connect-window (or whatever it is) and change
the address to root of server and when I connect
to that, it lets me in with asking no username or password.

I've once connected to the root with the highest
password & username (administrator-priviledges) and
I was wondering if there is something password saving
on, that remembers those.. Even though if I 'unmount'
the server/folder, it won't let me in anywhere on the
server without password.

So it works fine if I 'unmount' all, and then try to
connect to server root with a password & username
that has no access to there: it won't let me in, and
that is the way it should work. It lets me in to the
other folder with mac users specific username & pw
but after that it goes berzerk: I can once again
get to anywhere on server without inputing any
username and/or password..

And yes, I know, the way I'm doing it is actually
mounting or mapping, but what I've read about adding
mac to a win AD isn't exactly easy(?), so if I anyway
can do this like I've tried, would it be much better.

PS. Sorry if there's some language-problems, I'm
from Finland, so my english may not be so good.
I also hope that this is the right area for this message..
