Ok, I haven't seen a thread on this before, but I can't believe others aren't pulling their hair out like me
I will gladly merge a thread if there is one
Mac Address Book is accurate
Sync to iPhone/iPad Contacts and everything is good EXCEPT birthdays
They used to be off 1 or 2 days, but now it is like 2 weeks
But it isn't ALL dates, just some dates
I am guessing it has something to do with where the dates were created... on the Mac or the iPhone/iPad originally
Additionally, if I try to Edit the bad date on the iPhone/iPad, it crashes the Contacts and closes it
Good dates don't crash the App
Funny thing is, the Occasions App on the iPhone reads ALL the dates correctly, even the ones that are displayed wrong
But, the Birthday Calendar generated from the Contacts only shows the good dates, not the bad ones... they don't show at all
I do not sync with Mobile Me, although I have tried to several times and always dumped it
This is a straight Mac -> iPhone/iPad sync and both the iPhone/iPad have the same wrong dates
OS X is 10.6.6
iOS is 4.2.1
No jailbreaks
I have tried the "replace information on this iPhone" option
I AM able to delete the screwed up Contacts and recreate them on the Mac and they work on the iPhone/iPad
But it is a lot of trouble to go through each one to check it
I guess that is what I will have to do though
If you guys aren't experiencing this, then how do I fix it?
If you are experiencing it, then WTF?
Edit
For anyone that is interested, I went through and identified all of the Contacts that were showing wrong dates on the iPhone
I created new ones on the Mac for them
I synced with BOTH records and checked to make sure the new ones were good
Then I deleted them on the Mac
And re-synced
And that seems to have corrected my problems... for now
But is sure was a lot of trouble
And since I don't really know what caused it, I am concerned it will return
For now, I will just edit my contacts only on my Mac
I created new ones
