I am sure this is a REAL newbie question... I have no clue how to get my movie from my camera onto my new iMAC - it is not recognizing my new JVC GR-D375U camera. It came with software, but only for a PC. Is there something I am forgetting? It came with a USB cable and that was it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All you need to do is plug your camera into your Mac, open iMovie and there is a little slider under the image window that says import... click that and it should say if the camera is detected or not

I guess I don't have the right cable. I would assume it came with the camera or the iMac - I tried plugging it in with the USB cable - which doesn't work and i wouldn't think it would be USB anyway. I have a firewire cable but that doesn't fit in the DV slot - :( Do I need to go buy a special cable?

I tired to do a product search with the details you gave me, and it says thats for a battery.

I think the cable you need is a firewire 4-6pin cable

My JVC and Samsung cameras uses that, so...

Yup, found it.. did a global search (not a UK product)

I'm going to sit firm with my answer as it says DV Input/Output (IEEE 1394 compliant)
