So I currently have lion installed on my macbook pro 17 inch, 8gb of RAM and 500 gb. However, I would still like to use Mac OS Snow Leopard because of rosetta. So I created a 60gb partition, and I am currently tring to install snow leopard... and it wont let me... i even bought the retail disk for snow leopard from apple. However, when I try booting from the disk, It gets stuck on the Apple icon... What would you guys recomend I do? I formated the partition in Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)...

If your Mac came with Lion, it cannot run Snow Leopard without major modifications. And it will not boot or install from a Snow Leopard retail disc.

You'll have to use the restore discs to reinstall Snow Leopard on to it. The Retail discs are too old for your machine.

I just bought this retail disk from Apple, and it shipped to my house literally 1 day ago...
