Bit of a strange one this, over the last week my Mac has been automatically booting up at midnight every day consistently.

I have scheduled a few automatic boot ups before under System Preferences -> Energy Saver -> Schedule, but even after I have unticked the "start up at" and "shutdown at" it still keeps booting up automatically.

Any ideas on why it keeps boot up automatically, for now my only option has been to unplug it at night!

Thanks for any suggestions!

It seems like the option hasn't been purged.

To clear out the setting you can reset the PRAM

Resetting PRAM and NVRAM said:
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
