Mac keeps installing update

I bought a new MacBook Air today. It says there is a 8gig update. Only problem is I keep having to do it over and over. Once the laptop restarts the update is still showing.

Any ideas?

What update? An 8GB update sounds like an update to macOS Catalina, is that what you're seeing? And if so, have you installed it?

Yeah it looks like Catalina. I just tried a 3rd time then got an error message saying it had timed out.

No idea wha to do!
