My macbook keeps restarting after the chimes. I forgot my password so I tried to "hack" a new admin account by putting it in single user mode and then entering the command : /sbin/mount -uw / and when I entered the 2nd command : rm /var/db/.applesetupdone it didn't work. When I tried to restart my MAC it kept going to the start up screen and just keeps on restarting over and over again. PLEASE HELP!:(:apple:

Some things to try:

Reset PRAM.
Reset SMC.

Other questions:

Can you boot into safe mode (hold down shift upon restart)?
Can you boot off the OS and run disk utility to repair permissions?

I cannot do anything with this laptop. As far as I can go is to the part when here is the apple and loading circle underneath of it. It just keeps on realoading like that. I have tried firewire.
