Mac keyboard adding extra symbols? Really annoying!

Hi for some reason my Macbook Pro 15" Retina (2012) is adding extra symbols whenever I press certain keys.

For example my "/" key does this "=/" and when I try and Shift+/ to do a question mark, I get this "+?"

Any way to fix this? I can't stress how annoying it is. I've tried different user accounts and it's still the same.

Change the keyboard setting.

It could be set to another language or country setting. Where did you get your notebook from, second hand?

If it's always adding + or =, that key could be activating when you press other keys, either in software or hardware.
