I have a Mac LC 580 that was being discarded from a school. I'm almost positive that it gives me the question mark when booting up because something is wrong with the systems folder. The I have an OS 7.6 install disk and an 8.5 (both CD) disk but the computer does not seem to read my disks. Any suggestions about mounting the disk images, or getting another disk would be great. Thanks.

Hold down the "C" key when turning on the computer. You could also try holding down the "Option" key, then selecting the CD Drive. Make sure you have the CD in though!

Hope that helps!

Thanks for responding. I tried holding the option key down when booting the computer. It still just shows the floppy disk with the blinking ? mark. Any tips?
