I'm still having trouble getting my PC monitor working correctly on the Mac. It's a general problem, the desktop fits the screen no problem. There is the usual half-inch or so gap all the way round. Windows within the desktop slip beyond it's boundaries. Small windows are okay. To give an example. a spreadsheet document that fitted perfectly well on the old 12-13" monitor now "overhangs" the desktop by around 15%. I don't understand why, except to say that no matter what settings I use on the Mac/PC adapter I cannot set a resolution higher then 640x480 in the control panel. Considering this monitor is capable of 1024x768 I find that odd. All the same it's also capable of 640x480 which is more then the old monitor. I thought there would be more room?

Thanks to Mad Cow Disease for his/her help so far. Clearing the PRAM and rebuilding the desktop made no difference.

My machine is a:

LC-III series running Mac o/s B1-7.1
The monitor is a EMC CA6525DL (I think this is a generic monitor, in my case it is branded as a Smile monitor.) I'll give it bl**dy smile:D
