Mac Lion - Finder Columns

Hi i'm running mac lion OSX 10.7.3

I used to be able to resize the columns in the finder view when set to view as columns from any point around the column. but now the thin black lines are now thick double white bars, similar to snow leopard and the resizing option is only available at the bottom of the bar... how did i switch this, and how can I get it back to the original way it was on lion...
