I have had my MacBook Pro M1 16" for 4 years now and the right speaker started to crackle. At any volume you could hear the scratchiness and it was very annoying so I put the balance on left, not always ideal. Anyway I got a quote and to get an original right speaker and labour (not Apple) was going to cost me $100 dollars to fix. Apple could quote me but I had to send it in and they said 10 to 14 working days. This is my working laptop so not a chance. Anyway last week I decided to give it the "old tv" treatment and I gave it a solid slap (not too hard) on the right speaker, hard enough though, just like on the old days when you slap a CRT TV, and voila. It magically came right and it's been fine ever since. So anyone have this issue give it a try, it's free and may just work.
