Searched the Forum. learned a lot, but no answer found to this problem. Please advice.
Apologies for lengthy explanation to help diagnosing.
In SL: Mac Mail very reliable, connected to 1 single account (ACCOUNT1, Exhange IMAP; details below)
In Lion (Mail 5.0):
ACCOUNT1: no longer access !
After about 2 weeks of use, I have no longer access to the mail server !? Server refuses password at ALL times (until I hit cancel) (password verified in administrator account and Web Exchange Mail app) (Mail Error message: The Exchange IMAP server mail.xx.xx.xx rejected the password for user xxxxxx).
So, I try to open another account, ACCOUNT2, hoping to get access this way.
BUT: I do not have the option to create an account with identical specifications as the first account (?) (details below). The settings are no choice .
ACCOUNT2: incoming / outgoing mail seem to work fine (password works !).
BUT: sent mailbox and draft mailbox in ACCOUNT2 are not properly updated. Not ALL sent mail appears in the ACCOUNT2 sent box. The Drafts mailbox remains empty in ACCOUNT2.
Result: I am stuck with 2 mail accounts, none that works properly (one even without access).
Extra lead ?: Connecting to my VPN remote server access, now requires my password twice ! First time is always refused, second accepted. Does this go together with the access to either account ?
To those of you that have the expertise ... advice please.
Referral to other posts / threads very welcome.
Many thanks in advance !
(Mac Newbie)
