Mac mail and yahoo

When I try to set up yahoo in mac mail it says it is a pop messenger and that i need to pay additional fees to use it. ($20 a year, not bad)

Although I will pay if need be is there anyway to get it for free

No. You can either pay for an outdated POP Yahoo account or use GMail/IMAP for free.

I have my yahoo account set with pop without paying I just googled the pop.yahoo configurations and had no issues.
