Hi everyone. I have a problem with my mac mail.
I have my email setup with google apps, and mobile me.
in order for all of my mail to work as it should, (getting proper push emails to my iphone and ipad) i have my google mail addresses forwarding every email to my mobile me account, which then notifies me via push that i have an email. then, when i reply i have the outgoing servers set to send from my google apps account, so i don't have to have all of my clients getting mail from me from an unprofessional .me email address.
i have tried using google apps, and setting it up to push via exchange, but you cannot edit which folders in google apps get sent to your iphone, so it doesn't work for my applications (and does not solve the problem asd outlined below). the simple solution to this would be if apple would just allow me to set up my .me account with an alias, like google does (i don't understand why they charge $100 per year, and wont allow custom domain email addresses.. google does this for free!!)
anyway, all that aside. mac mail is updating the mobileme folders cache's almost constantly. so much so that I'm doubling my monthly bandwidth allotment (I'm doubling the 60G limit each month) and i don't download anything, no movies, no torrents, no music, it's mail that is using almost all of it.
anyway, i have always just paid the additional fee's for going over the limit, but at over $100 per month, its starting to really bug me that apple has not fixed this problem, even though its well documented.
so, to make a very long story short, i need to switch to a better email client, and am open to suggestions.
i need it to sync well with both the iphone, and the ipad, and sync both sent mail items and the inbox, so i can keep track of emails properly on each of my devices.
its been several months of dealing with this problem with mac mail, and I've literally tried every fix offered on the internet for this problem, and none of it works.
oh, and mac mail also does the same thing (constant cacheing) when i setup my google apps account with mobile me completely deleted... meaning this is specifically a mac mail application problem.
