Without getting into the finer details, I'm running an old OS (10.6.8) at work, and using the mac Mail app for work email traffic.

Many emails have files attached - often html files, which I click on to preview, but they open in Firefox.

I used to use Firefox as the main browser, but I'm now forced to use Chrome, as certain work related things rely upon it.

Chrome is set as the default browser, but I do like to keep Firefox for using now and again for certain things, so I don't want to delete it.

How do I set Mail to open any html/web files in Chrome by default?

Please only reply if you can answer this, I know I should be on a newer version of everything, and I shouldn't really use two browsers, but it's complicated.

Thanks.

Save a (known safe) HTML attachment to your desktop.
Right-click (or Ctrl-click) the file and choose "Get info" from the context menu.
Expand the "Open with:" portion, select Chrome, and press the "Change all..." button.

Ah ok, cool.

Links are still opening in Firefox too....

When I right click on the link, all I get is:

Open Link
Open Link Behind Mail
Download Linked File
Copy Link

Open URL
