Mac Mail does not delete messages

I am using a Yahoo! Mail account on Mac Mail and when I go to delete a message in my inbox (in Mail) in grays out and then turns black again. However, this same email message does not appear when I log into Yahoo! Mail in Safari. Any ideas of what is going on? Thanks.

I used to have similar problem when i switched my Gmail in mac mail from POP to IMAP. When i switched back to POP, i was able to delete. Maybe this is the issue?

It is setup as POP.

Did you have this problem before?

another thing, have you tried playing around with mailbox behaviors and advanced options. e.g. remove copy from server etc. I am not sure about Yahoo, but in Gmail, there are few options to change the preferences for IMAP and POP. Did you check if you have similar thing in Yahoo?
