Mac Mail font size

How do I set Mail prefs so that all incoming mail arrives in a certain font size? I have vision problems and have not found a way to do this. Is it possible?? Thanks.

go to preferences in mail. Then go to font and change it from there!

Already did that and it doesn't work, hence my post here. :-(
