Mac mail is downloading the same emails

My mac mail program keeps downloading the same emails off my yahoo server over and over again. It should only be downloading ones that it hasn't downloaded before. That's the way it has always worked and something changed suddenly. It also changed for my "Entourage" email program.

As it's changed for both, could it be a setting on your Yahoo account?

I suspected that at first but I'm not having the same problem on my PC. At the moment my "Entourage" program(Microsoft Office for Mac 2008) is functioning properly on my Mac but the Mac Mail program is still downloading all emails off the server. I've used the Mac Mail for months without any problems and then it just started this problem recently. I've looked at every setting that I know about in Preferences, deleted the account, added it back, but still having the same problem.
