Mac Mail is receiving 2 copies of all mail

I use mac mail and entourage 2008. I am more and more unhappy with entourage and am moving towards using only mac mail. Seems like an easy enough transition but it bugs me to no end that I receive 2 copies of my mail in Mail. How can I fix this?

I am running OSX.5.7 on a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/4GB ram

Are you on POP or IMAP? What are the Mailbox Settings? (Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> Mailbox Behaviors)
