Mac Mail keeps displaying messages wrong..

Every time I close (down to the dock) mac mail and reopen when I notice I have a new message it displays my messages wrong.

I want it to display newer messages at the bottom of the page. Older at the top. However it keeps displaying old messages I have already looked at (from the top) and I have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to view my new messages.

This just started happening the last few days..
