Mac Mail keeps forgetting my signatures

Hello I have several email accounts which I access via Apple's Mail programme (v4.5).
One of them is an Exchange IMAP account and this one keeps on forgetting my signatures - they are still remembered for other accounts (ie it loses the association of the signatures for that account)
any ideas how to stop this?
