Hi all,
My fiance has a .mac account which she uses mail on her powerbook. At her last job, they had an emac which she used and set-up apple mail on the emac to retrieve her .mac email.
She had to leave abruptly, so when she got home, she signed onto www.mac.com and changed her password on her .mac account and then updated her pasword on her powerbook at home. By doing this, her apple mail program on her old work computer can not send or retrieve her email anymore, correct?
We thoguht this was secure, but the reason this came up was that a week later, she changed her password online at www.mac.com again (now the seond time) from her current job. She had left her powerbook on at home and when she had returned from work, all of her emails fromt he day were on her computer even though she had changed her password on mac.com.
At this point, she logged onto mac.com with her new passowrd and changed her password again. This time, after a few minutes, her mail program on her powerbook asked for the password for her .mac account saying it was incorrect. She entered her password, and now was receiving mail. She changed it a fourth time on mac.com (this time from my computer) and once agin her mail program asked for her new password as her old one was incorrect.
So, if it should ask for a new password if it is changed online, is there any explanation for how her powerbook kept retrieving her mail through the day even though she had changed her password?
Thanks for the help everyone!
