Mac Mail..."Redirect"

Hi,

How does "Redirect"' work in Mac Mail? I get the concept, but when i have a main that was sent to me, and "Redirect" it towards my wife's email (for e.g.), she never gets it?

Am I missing the big pic here?

Please help
