Hi all,

I'm a new Mac user, but I can't seem to find a way to set the Mac Mail program so that it synchronizes with Gmail properly. Basically, I'd love it if it would operate the same way as my iPhone in that it marks messages I've read on Mac Mail as read in Gmail and deletes them accordingly as well.

Is there any way to make changes in Mac Mail to allow this to happen (these functions perform perfectly on my iPhone and I thought the iPhone program was based on the OSX program).

Thanks

Just connect your Apple Mail with GMail using IMAP. You are more than likely using POP3, which is server independent, whereas IMAP constantly syncs with the server.
