I just replaced myMac Mini 2012 with a 2020 model, which meant I jumped from Mojave to Ventura in one leap.

Biggest disappointment: the whiting out of toolbar backgrounds where there used to be a gray theme. Especially bad is the Mail toolbar, where the icons are all washed out. This apparently began with Big Sur. My question is has anyone found a way or an app which can correct this obvious UI screwup? I’ve spent hours fiddling with the available Settings options but it still strains my 74 year-old eyes. :)

Thanks in advance,
Rob from AZ

For me the "light" appearance setting is horrible overall.

I do know what you mean. Even in the "dark" setting they seem to have changed the toolbar font and icons to a gray that's a little too dark. In other words, there's not as much contrast as there used to be with either.

You tried toggling some of the options at System Settings>Accessibility>Display?

Thanks...I've tried a lot of those but everything that makes it better in Mail makes it look worse everywhere else....
