mac mail ?

I have my mac mail setup for my gmail, if that matters.
When I hit the get mail icon, sometimes it acts as if it receiving messages, then nothing appears, not even in the spam, etc boxes. Is this normal or?

It is normal behaviour unless you should get mail via Mail but don't.

Any clue why it appears as its receiving, but doesn't? Just a glitch with the way it works or?

It's not a glitch. It's just indicating that it's checking for new mail and downloading, if there is any. If there isn't, you don't have new mail.

I know what you mean. It says downloading 1 of 4 for example and nothing shows?
