Its insanely buggy, I can't even remove a contact because it's unable to do so. I'm sorry, but is this the best Microsoft can do? No more Messenger for me, I'm done with that piece of <fill in whatever you want>...

Well i wouldn't say they've done nothing. They fixed a lot of things and actually made them work. Think they've done a good job on this for once. Clearly non of you have any idea about software engineering

Clearly you have no idea what our knowledge and experience with software engineering is.

if you consider the app crashing every 5 minutes a feature, then i guess they introduced that too... i ended up switching to adium, because messenger 8 is junk.

And clearly you don't as well if you say that nothing except AV has been done on messenger for mac 8.
I didn't say that. I simply posted links and quoted an article. Read much?

mac messenger 8 new features?
does anyone know what else is new to mac messenger 8 besides av being out of beta?
surely there must be more added to it since version 7

Fixing things isn't the same thing as adding new features, which is what the OP asked. If you know of any new features, not fixes, why don't you post them?

Trying to block or unblock someone is buggy like in version 7.

I blocked one person on my contact list, and it blocked two people. Then, it added someone to my contact list that I had deleted and blocked a long time ago.

Also, I still can't always see peoples display picture which is also like version 7.

:/

Who dat?

I'd say from my own experience that it's a much cleaner version since Messenger 7 was brutal in my own opinion. The only thing I wish they would add (hopefully in a patch) is putting a little badge on the particular persons message window when they'll all on the dock. If I'm talking to 10 different people, I don't want to have to hover over each window in the dock to see which one has the new message. The little blue chat bubbles worked well in 7.

D.

My idea was to use it ONLY when I needed to do A/V.

I noticed my system slows down a lot while Messenger is open. Maybe it's on purpose.
