Mac Messenger 8 on MBP - issue

I have just updated my mac messnger 7 to 8 which now supports video calling using the isight camera. A problem which I irritates me is that whenever I open Mac Messenger 8, my mbp 17" changes from using intel graphics to nvidia discrete graphics.

Is there anyway around this? Is it possible to force my mbp to use intel graphics for this certain application?
