mac messenger...annoying notification saying one person signs in EVERY TIME I SIGN IN

Every time I sign into my mac messenger, I get a notification saying "*name* has just logged on". This happens each and every time I sign on, and only with one person!! and I know this person is ALWAYS online, but on away.
I don't understand why, I'm hoping its not some sort of hack. its really annoying!

Not an explanation per say, but I used to get this on my Windows machine. But instead of just one person..the entire right hand side of my screen would fill up with these notifications (5-6 people). So either these people are practising for the new olympic event: Syncronized Login, or someone messed up in the matrix. Damn you Neo!!

Exactly the same here.

To be honest, the official Microsoft Messenger client for Mac sucks.
