Mac:Messenger not working

My MSN is not working on my Mac, my internet connection is up, I have managed to get on, it seems to be on and off, don't know whether I can connect again, need some help please, thanks

I went on MSN on my Vista just now, everything is good, but on the Mac, don't know what happened, I managed to get on yesterday on my Mac

I have the same problem here in Hong Kong, I couldnt use msn messenger on mac but works fine on adium!

Yup, Messenger failing here but Adium is working

Same here in the Netherlands... Windows ver of MSN is connecting without a problem....

Man... Mac Messenger is REALLY LAME THEN!! There wasn't even a warning or notice... So bad

This reminds me of the many times I needed an email and hotmail/windows live mail was down. They just don't give a warning or notice and it always makes me mad.

Mine hasnt been letting me log in all day either but using Mercury messenger does.

Funnily enough, I've just tried it for the millionth time and as of typing this, it has let me log in..

is to thrash the preference plist file. user>library>preferences folder, restart

i have tried using Adium and MSN Messenger for Mac, neither of which have been working for the last 2-3 weeks...

Works on my PC though, and oddly enough couple of weeks back when trying to log into hotmail it started tossing my browser around in circles between the same urls, one parsing to the next and back to the first, about 5 different urls just looping, would not let me in to hotmail. Tested hotmail using a web proxy and suddenly it rendered fine, also worked fine on my PC as well, possible Microsoft are trying to block mac users now and then to shame mac or maybe prioritising users based on OS during times of server being under strain?

Until then i have been using www.meebo.com to use msn otherwise i cant keep in contact with my friends.
