Gang,

I am considering an intel core mac mini to use as a home theater PC. I know the mini comes with a mini-DVI to DVI adapter. My Toshiba TV (ca. 2002) has one DVI/HDCP connector.

Presumably it will work with a content protected source such as a DVI/HDCP DVD player, but, will it work with a mac mini DVI adapter and show video on the screen if the mac mini DVI output is not necessarily HDCP?

Anyone know?

Pretty sure it will as my Mini is outputting from its mini-DVI to an HDMI switcher then into an HDMI expansion board which I'd imagine has to be HDCP.

Worst case scenario you could use a Mini Displayport -> HDMI adapter then hook that into an HDMI -> adapter. The Mini Displayport is definitely HDCP compliant.

Thanks.

What is your preferred adapter config to use the mini-display port <-> DVI (which I could test with my wifes macbook before getting a mac mini)?
