We're planning to purchase a refurb laptop for our daughter, and one of her primary uses for a computer (besides schoolwork) is playing and programming Minecraft. This works fine on our iMac, but I'm having difficulty deciding what to get for her in a personal machine.

I'd like to stay under $800 if possible, and really, the cheaper the better, so here's the question: how well do the 2009/2010 Dual core Macbook 13" machines run the program? Does it really need the i5 or i7 chip? What about RAM - is the standard 2GB enough? (I know more is better, I'm just trying not to break the bank here.)

Looking forward to hearing about your experiences ...

thanks!
