mac mini 2009 - no sound

I have a sound issue that i can't resolve . Any ideas ?

My internal speaker works when switched on - chimes . The headphone socket works with headphones but does not default to internal speaker when they pulled out .

under system preferences/sound/input all I can see is 'headphones' whether they are plugged in or not .

I have tried a SMC reset , removed and refitted the audio board but still the same issue , it does not matter whether I play CD/spotify/itunes .

Any ideas?

I replaced the audio board - now OK
