I bought a used replacement CD/DVD drive for my 2010 Mac Mini, but now when I boot the machine I get a message as if I've inserted a blank DVD. The drive seems to work fine otherwise--there were no issues trying to rip a CD.

Any ideas on what's causing the drive to think there's a blank disc inserted? Or how I can prevent that from popping up again.

"The drive seems to work fine otherwise--there were no issues trying to rip a CD."

In that case, I'd just "click through" the "blank disc" alert and forget about it.
It's not worth replacing the drive on an 11-year-old Mac for "just that"...
