Hey guys! How's it going?
My problem is...I have a 2010 mac mini as a HTPC hooked up to my 42 LCD TV through HDMI, everything was working fine but the Hard drive on the mini started failing so I stopped using it and hooked up a external usb drive to the mini and migrated the OS and the files.

At first everything seemed ok but on the sound options, the mini doesn't recognize my TV through HDMI anymore.
The display works fine, everything runs fine, movies etc but no audio, If I use a mini dvi to vga and a headset everything works but with the HDMI cable the sound doesn't exists.

Any ideas?

Try Apps > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

I had a similar problem setting up some 2011 Minis with an HDMI connection, and that's where I had to fix it.

Thanks, but I looked into the midi app and still no HDMI appearing there also.. =( don't know what else to do, i've looked everywhere for answers...

System Preferences > Sound> Output Tab at top > Select your Television from the list
