Hi all. I've just bought a second Mini for a family member to get started on their first Mac, and wanted to pep things up with an SSD to replace the standard 500GB 5400RPM drive. What do you recommend?

Are the current Samsung models still compatible? I was considering an 860 EVO as I have an 850 in my 2012 Mini and its been fine, but the supplier I use in the UK (Ebuyer) wasn't sure if they were compatible?

Also, what RAM can the machine handle - can it use the full 16GB as some suppliers suggest (OWC)?

Any help most welcome!

Spec is as follows:

Release Year2011
TypeDesktop
Storage TypeHDD (Hard Disk Drive)
ProcessorIntel Core i5 1st Gen.
Operating SystemMac OS X 10.7, Lion
RAM Size2 GB
Hard Drive Capacity500 GB
Processor Speed2.30 GHz
GPUIntel HD Graphics 3000

Hi
Yes, the current Samsung models are compatible. I installed a 860 Evo on my 2012 Mini and I'm very satisfied with it.
It can handle 16 Gb RAM at 1333 MHz
