Hello! To get to the point: I have a 2011 i5 Mac Mini which came with the stock 500gb 5400rpm HDD. I purchased both a 240GB Sandisk SSD and the OWC DIY kit which allows me to install a second harddrive and have a Mini Server-like setup.

I followed the instructions this morning, and watched the video as I was installing the drive. The drive positioning in the Mini (assuming it is the right way up), has the SSD on top, then the HDD on bottom- as the video instructs.

However, I can't install Lion on this drive. When I try and do a fresh install, Lion will read the drive as the "Recovery HD" with only about 600mb-700mb storage, it'll be unselectible and a message underneath says that "The drive is locked".

I got into Disk Utility and have formatted the drive (DU read all 240GB), repairing and varifying the drive. Yet still I can't install Lion.

It's quite frustrating, and I was wondering if anyone could help?

edit: OK so I managed to install lion by splitting my drive in two and installing on the second partition. The first is still locked with a tiny "recovery" bit that I can't seem to get rid off.

Slightly annoying, does anyone know how to delete this partition? It's locking out 15gb of my SSD which I kind of want back...
