Hi,

This is a Mac mini (Mid 2011) Core i7 with AMD Radeon HD 6630M. It was working fine with macOS Sierra until it was updated to High Sierra. After the update fails to finish boot, shows Apple logo and then goes to the 'white screen of death'. I did try about all the things I found on internet that are basically shown here

I also erased the hard disk and did install several different macOS (10.8; 10.11) but still hangs on the white screen. Booting from USB didn't work either. Before erasing its internal hard disk and SSD, Windows (alone on the internal hard disk) didn't boot. Is this a hardware failure?? Any other ideas? The Mac mini passed the Apple hardware test (3A225) I was able to do online.

This could be a permissions or firmware update that was needed before the upgrade.
hopefully you time machined your mini while using Sierra, and you can recover what you had before the upgrade to High Sierra.
tOr ry restoring the mini to mountain lion or lion
I had a iMac G4 with the white screen i thought was doomed, but only needed a new battery and a pram reset.

Most oil the tips listed on that site are cut and paste from other sites.
i visited this person website to try to fix my keyboard on a MacBook air year sago and had lousy advice were the solution was to install that blue ribbon all the way into the trackpad instead of typing some code in terminal. or switching the language option in keyboard settings.
and the last resort is alway purchasing "maccleaner" through them.

Hi! Thanks for your reply!

No worries about lost stuff. I just want to recover the Mac mini. It is not able to boot right now. :(

oh sorry, I wrote it wrong.. I mean, it boots on both those but fails to finish booting.. same issue, when is supposed to show a screen with options after the Earth globe goes to a full white screen and nothing happens.

I did try to boot from external hard disk but also failed on it.

The site to which you linked mentions booting in verbose mode. Did you try that to see what's happening at the point of failure? You could shoot a video of the screen booting so that you can review it.

Hi, I tried to boot from another OSes, this was Solus linux that works superb on my Mac Pro 1,1

Didn't install, just boot from live media. After the text at the beginning when Solus should show the linux desktop all remained black. So I guess is the AMD Radeon card on the mini??

I got a crazy white screen out of the box yesterday when it was updating. It turned over and all seems to be fine now.
