I have a 2014 Mac mini, it was getting pretty hot recently, so I took the opportunity when I had to open it to install a SSD NVMe and cleanned the fan. but still it's getting VERY hot under no load, 95 celcius while browsing the web, I think the termal paste has gonne bad, is it too dificulty to replace it? ifix tutorial make it seens like a nightmare to dissasemble, speccially since i hav eno tools othe rthan the hex screwdrivers, how is yours experience with high temperatures on old minis?

Are you sure you reconnected the fan, and are you sure the fan is actually working?

Change for Mac Mini M1.

Just kidding

If you removed the heatsink and reinstalled it without completely removing the thermal paste, this is really bad. I would lean toward this issue personally.

Didn't remove the heatsink, just the fan and cleaned it, i'm afraid of opening it more deeper as I lack the tools to remove the motherboard and all that, that's why I never changed the termhal paste yet.
