Does anyone know how long the Mac Mini 2014 would be supported for for OS upgrades?

I’m looking at a 2014 8GB 240GB SSD MAC Mini for about $329. I mainly want to give my big desktop a rest as it puts out heat. I figure the Mac mini is small and efficient - granted same gen hardware as my desktop.

Thoughts on it? If OS upgrades aren’t great for the next year or two Linux is always an option.

Mainly I’ll use it for remote working and some VS Code maybe Visual Studio development.

Apple generally supports their computers by about 5 to 10 years. According to Mactracker:

Mac Mini (Late 2009). Sold until Mid 2010. Supported until MacOS 10.11.6 (2016). Total years: 6 years
Mac Mini (Mid 2010). Sold until Mid 2011. Support through MacOS 10.13.6 (2017). Total years: 6 years
Mac Mini (Mid 2011). Sold until Late 2012. Supported through MacOS 10.13.6 (2017). Total years: 5 years
Mac Mini (Late 2012). Sold until Late 2014. Supports current MacOS 10.15 (2020+?). Total years: 6 years (for now)
Mac Mini (Late 2014). Sold until Late 2018. Support current MacOS 10.15 (2020+ ?). Total years: 2 years (for now)

I expect to get another 3 to 4 years of updates at least, if current trends are future trends.
