Hello,

i´m trying now for days to get Windows on a external TB3 drive. I bought a i-tec MySafe Thunderbolt 3 M.2 NVMe Metal External case 40 Gbps and a Samsung MZ-V7S1T0BW SSD 970 EVO Plus 1 TB M.2 Interne NVMe SSD.
On the Mac i can format that drive, but cant choose it for a bootcamp installation. So i looked up for work arounds. I found this one, http://bleeptobleep.blogspot.com/2013/02/mac-install-windows-7-or-8-on-external.html, followed the instructions with a Windoes Enterprise edition, but.....
The mac let me not choose the drive. I put the security for external drive to "yes" and the over all security for allowed operating systems to "middle" but.....
I got a meassage that "the bless-Tool could not establish the start volume"

i tried also to start from a bootstick with windows on it and install the windows to the external drive, but...

Is ther anyone who have an idea?

Sorry for my english. It´s not my mother language.

Best regards from germany

Matt

[doublepost=1554592193][/doublepost]Matt, no need to follow that instruction. That is for using USB external drive installation. Since you are using TB3 drive, you can just install Windows 10 directly without using Boot Camp.

Just use 1709 or 1703 and upgrade to 1803. 1809 is still a problem with many TB3 external case.
