Hi guys

I'm looking to buy a Mac Mini 2020 and two Dell P2421DC displays which I want to daisy chain.
Is this posible since the Mac Mini 2020 does not have a display port? What are my options here?

Thanks

Last time I checked macOS doesn’t support display port mst (sending two streams over one dp cable) for monitor daisy chaining like that.

I bought an OWC tb3 to dual DisplayPort adapter and it works well. Another benefit for me at least, my dells (p2415qs; 24” 4K) force it down to 30hz max when mst is enabled.

Ok, thanks. Thats what I knew too.
But could I just simply use two usb-c to display port cables? One for each display. This should work, right?

I inquired with Apple support about doing exactly the same thing with 2 LG 24MD4K monitors. I was told the two
TB3/USB-C ports only one supports one 4K monitor and I could not daisy chain even thou LG has a video showing you can. The second monitor has to be connected to the HDMI 2.0 port using a USB-C to HDMI adapter. I have a
J5Create adapter that I have used in the past connecting a iMac 4K to a Dell Monitor and it works great at 60hz.
I currently have a 2020 MacBook Pro 13" 2.3 mhz. 1 TB, 32 GB ram hooked up to a LG 24MD4K Monitor and love it and I want to get a second monitor (same one) to daisy chain. I was told that one TB3 port will not support two monitors and would have to connect the second monitor to one of the other three TB3 ports or buy a TB3 Hub.

The 4K ultra fine specifically says in the docs about daisy chaining two together.

tb3 can definitely run two 4K displays from one port (I do it with a 2018 mini and a dual dp adapter) but that’s only gonna work if your gpu provides enough DisplayPort streams. I don’t see why a 2020 intel mbp13 wouldn’t run two 4K ultrafines daisy chained (the m1 Macs have limits on DisplayPort outputs)

I agree it should There’s one way to find out and just by another Ultra Fine when it becomes available. I can always hook it up to another TB port. My information came from Apple Support via Messages and sometimes I’m not sure I’m getting correct replies as it is a automated system.
