Hi everyone,
I have recently bought a Mac Mini mid 2010 (model 4,1).
Actually it has installed 8 GB RAM.
Can I upgrade to 16 GB?
I have read that some people has some success but I don't understand why.
Apple official site declares 8 GB as maximum, Crucial the same.
However OWC declares 16 GB as maximum.
Is it due to CPU? It has a 2,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Or is it due to OS? It runs mac OS High Sierra.
Any advice?
Thanks.

It will accept a maximum of 8GB because it is limited by the hardware. It is the processor that dictates the amount of RAM that you can upgrade to, in your case the Intel Core 2 Duo accepts a maximum of 8GB.

Edit: I'm sorry, it appears as though your Mac Mini was originally limited and since you are running High Sierra you can upgrade to 16GB.
