I'm currently looking at a selection of Mac Mini-style HDs. I've looked at the Iomega and the LaCie 500GB HD/Hub so far. The LaCie looks good, but I am concerned about noise, heat and "smart switching" (i.e. if it powers down when you turn off or sleep the Mac). I don't think the LaCie has this. Could anyone who has one say if they are happy with it on at least the first two counts? I've found one for £200, which seems reasonable. I've also seen the Newer Technology MiniStack, which goes up to 750GB. Anyone got this one?

Edit: Just ordered a Micronet MiniMate 500GB for $276.00. Looks good. :)
