Mac Mini Advice

I quite like the look and size of the Mac Mini. Looking to buy a new one, 2ghz and upgrade the Hard drive and Memory to 4g myself.

Are they more than powerful enough to do most daya to day computing work, word, publisher, photo transfers, Camcorder transfers, very light gaming?

Are the new ones very very quiet? I hate noisey computers!! lol

Also, is it best to buy a Mac keyboard and mouse too?
