So I'm looking for an option in my budget to have something powerful at home to run heavy tasks on the CC suite and Lightroom 5. I am a photographer, designer and web designer so I need a good desktop option.

When they released the 2014 MacBook Air I picked up the 11in with the i7 and 8GB ram. This goes every where with me and the sole purpose to have something I can have anywhere with the form factor of the iPad and the ability to use moderate tasks (Photoshop, Lightroom, illustrator and Dreamweaver)
Nothing intense.

Well now I need a solution at home for more heavy editing tasks. The Mac Mini with i7 quad core really attracts me and for $250 I can throw in a 256GB SSD as well as 16GB DDR3 Ram. My only concern with the mini is the HD4000 being a bottleneck for the system. Maybe someone can tell me otherwise and convince me I'll have enough power. It will be paired up with a 23 NEC IPS display so everything should work fine in terms of work space. This would really just be temporary, and would consider moving on to the next Mac Mini once updated. Yes I do understand the mini hasn't been updated since 2012, but it would be more temporary than anything

I really don't think spending the money on a 27in iMac is in my budget, which is why the Mac Mini sounds so good.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on a solution I would appreciate it. Maybe someone can advise me if that setup would fit my needs

Thanks guys
