So the other day I upgraded my Mini to a core 2 duo 2.0 and faster bigger hard drive with more ram and super drive yada yada yada, so that's all fitted and works fine but for some reason it keeps forgetting the time and date every time i unplug the machine for the mains, now i have checked all the internal connections and there fine, i have even replaced the cmos battery (and i know how to handle them so you don't short them either plus one it was installed i checked the voltage with a multimeter) but every time I unplug it it keeps forgetting, as I said I have checked everything and nothing appears to be broken.

Im running 10.5.5 if that helps.

can anyone shed any light on this?

I don't know if it did that before or not. But for most computers that I have owned, the time and date reset when it is unplugged for too long. That battery is just for remembering BIOS settings as far as I know.

Everything else I own does this, I notice it especially with my Xbox and my 360. But once it's connected to the internet, the time corrects itself.
